Training Overview:
Everyone should have access to healthy and affordable food. Within the Public Health England 2020-25 Strategy ‘Improving the Nation’s Health’, they have prioritised healthier diets and healthier weight as one of the top 10 priorities for protecting and improving public health. Locally, in Barnet, Barking and Dagenham, Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster, access to healthy food is a priority. Ofsted have previously highlighted that schools have a key role to play in promoting healthier lifestyles including healthy eating. This includes teaching, extra-curricular activities, meeting food standards and engaging with key stakeholders.
This training session aims to support schools to feel more confident in understanding a whole school approach. This training is suitable for all staff and may include healthy schools’ leaders, teachers, and any other staff involved in healthy eating projects or planning within schools.
