Personal, Social, Health and Economic education
On the 1st March 2017 the Government laid an amendment to the Children and Social Work Bill which they intend to come in to effect from September 2020. The Secretary of State for Education confirms the Government’s ambition to support all young people to stay safe and prepare for life in modern Britain by making Relationships Education (Primary), Relationships and Sex Education (RSE - Secondary) and Health Education statutory in all schools.
The future opportunities and challenges facing today’s learners will demand high academic standards but also resilience, good physical amd mental health and an ability to adapt to a service-based economy that relies on enterprise, inter-personal and communication skills. High quality PSHE provision will provide young people with the necessary knowledge, attitudes, skills and understanding to successfully manage their personal development, future wellbeing and prosperity.
We can provide school and/or borough wide support for: helping to prepare for statutory status of RSE and PSHE, policy development, cross curriculur planning, schemes of work and staff training.
We can provide support, training or classroom delivery for: sex and relationships education, drug, alcohol and tobacco education and personal safety.
Please contact our respective team member for further advice and guidance of the support Health Education Partnership can provide regarding PSHE education and emotional health and wellbeing.
