Training Overview:
What does a whole school approach to Domestic Abuse Prevention look like? What can schools do to create a spiralling curriculum on Domestic Abuse and Violence against Women and Girls that is developmentally appropriate and engages all students including boys and young men?
In this training session the participants will have an opportunity to discuss these questions and widen their knowledge, skills and confidence. Violence against Women and Girls, including domestic abuse and coercive control, negatively impacts the health of our communities. However, it is not inevitable and can be prevented through collective action. Educational settings play a crucial role in this; and we are therefore inviting those working in schools to learn about the ways in which this role can be most impactful.
This session is also available to schools as an INSET. Please email hepteam@healtheducationpartnership.com to book an INSET for your school.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- Increased knowledge of coercive control and its impact on the survivors of domestic abuse, including children.
- Increased confidence in understanding the ways in which schools can prevent domestic abuse, using a whole-school approach.
- Improved ability/skills needed to develop and deliver a spiraling curriculum of preventative PSHE/RSHE that engages all students.
