Training Overview:
The Change4Life service is available in Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster to support children, young people and families most at risk of poor health outcomes to eat well and keep active.
Many parents are concerned about their children’s selective eating habits and how they might affect their growth and development. Whether this behaviour is a normal developmental phase or connected to sensory sensitivities, dealing with mealtime challenges can be overwhelming and disheartening. This session aims to equip staff with the knowledge and practical strategies to help parents and families address children’s challenging eating behaviours.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- Gain an understanding of the psychological, emotional, and sensory factors that affect an individual’s food choices.
- Differentiate between typical picky eating behaviours and signs that indicate the need for professional support.
- Increase confidence in assisting parents with picky eaters (and evidence-based resources to share)
- Highlight the Family Information Hub | SEND Local Offer available.
