Training Overview:
The Change4Life service in Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster supports children, young people and families most at risk of poor health outcomes to eat well and keep active.
This practical in person training session explores the important role of movement and physical development in children’s early learning, development and wellbeing. It focuses on movement as a foundation to support children’s communication, oracy, emotional regulation, and reading & writing.
Participants will practically explore how children’s physical development progresses and gain ideas to help children develop strength, balance, coordination and body awareness, while considering how these can be adapted for different children and contexts.
The training will look at practical ways practitioners can build meaningful movement opportunities into the early years environment including transitions, stories, songs, play and active learning experiences. Practitioners will leave with practical ideas they can use immediately within their own setting.
