Training Overview:

The Change4Life service in Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster supports children, young people and families most at risk of poor health outcomes to eat well and keep active.

The training is free of charge. This training session aims to support staff and volunteers to increase skill in critically reviewing the balance of meals, and increase confidence in adapting recipes to support health, budget and sustainability. Recipes reviewed can include those brought in from staff, which may include a range of different cultural and dietary preferences. The facilitator will also bring in some recipes for review to choose from.

Participants booking this session should consider familiarising themselves with the Eatwell Guide key messages in advance. However, this will be very briefly covered in the session.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

  • To increase skills in critically reviewing the balance of recipes
  • To increase confidence in making small changes to recipes that support health, budget and sustainability
  • To raise awareness of different cultural Eatwell Guides available for download
  • To discuss, share and increase ideas to help support local families in being equipped and empowered to have a healthier diet
  • To increase awareness of further resources and support available from the Change4Life Service to support you in your role.
