Training Overview:

The Change4Life service is available in Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster to support children, young people and families most at risk of poor health outcomes to eat well and keep active. One You is an integrated Healthy Lifestyle service that aims to help residents in both boroughs make long-term, sustainable changes to their health and lifestyle behaviours.

This bitesize webinar aims to support practitioners working with parents and families by increasing awareness of physical activity linked to mental health and offer practical tips. These tips focus on taking a whole-family approach to active minds, supporting physical activity and mental health. The session will also introduce the MECC framework, building confidence in facilitating positive, supportive conversations around this topic that are free from stigma.

Following this introductory session, settings will be signposted to additional support, resources and training available through the Change4Life and One You services.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

• Be introduced to some top tips that you can share with parents/carers and families in your local community or within your own staff team, to support active minds.
• Increase confidence in understanding how the MECC framework can be used to initiate supportive conversations, engage and empower parents/carers to support physical activity for mental health.
• Be aware of how to access resources, support and further training to support you in your role.
