Training Overview:

Health Education Partnership are commissioned to offer free training and capacity building support to help schools develop a whole school approach to domestic abuse prevention, through the Domestic Abuse Prevention Programme in Schools. This training is just one element of how the Programme can support schools. It will invite attendees to unpick legislative frameworks, relevant research and data surrounding concepts such as coercive control and gender equality. It will make links with the DfE Guidance on RSHE, Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and safeguarding processes. This session is also available to schools as an INSET.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

  • Increased knowledge of coercive control and its impact on the survivors of domestic abuse, including children.
  • Improved skills in facilitating conversations around domestic abuse with families and colleagues.
  • Improved confidence in identifying actions that schools can take to prevent domestic abuse.
