Training Overview:
Since the introduction of statutory Relationships, Sex and Health Education in September 2020, much of the focus of PSHE Education has been on addressing this mandatory content. However, PSHE Education, as the name suggests, includes ‘Economic’ Education and including the ‘E’ in PSHE teaching and learning programmes enables schools to promote essential life skills in relation to economic wellbeing, money management and financial capability.
Helping young people to explore issues related to money, financial wellbeing and money management, to consider emotions related to money and taking risks, making financial decisions and exploring careers and employment issues is a vital part of preparing them for adult life, with clear links to health outcomes and relationships.
This session aims to build knowledge, skills and confidence to include Economic Education through your PSHE curriculum to meets the need of your pupils.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- To explore what we mean by Economic Education and Financial Capability
- To review the secondary curriculum and consider relevant planning frameworks to support the delivery of Economic Education
- To consider issues relating to the sensitive, diverse and inclusive delivery of Economic Education
- To share a range of practical resources to support your delivery of Economic Education
