Training Overview:
All children and young people have the right to be healthy and to achieve at school and in life. Healthy Schools provides opportunities for enhancing emotional and physical aspects of health that will lead to improved health, reduced health inequalities, increased social inclusion and raising achievement. Healthier children do better in learning and in life.
The Healthy Schools London (HSL) Silver Award recognizes schools that have made significant progress in promoting pupil health and wellbeing, building upon the foundations of the Bronze Award. To achieve the Silver Award, schools must conduct a needs analysis, and develop a detailed action plan with measurable outcomes. This training will help you to plan and create an action plan to improve a chosen area of health and wellbeing.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- Improved knowledge of the process of writing the Silver Action Plan and how this links with the Gold Award
- Identification of health and education priorities in the national and local context
- Improved skills in data collection to evidence the need for intervention in schools
- Improved skills in planning targets, outcomes and actions to deliver the intervention
