Training Overview:

Over the past few decades there has been an increase in children and young people (CYP) experiencing mental health difficulties in both primary and secondary schools.  In 2020, one in six (16.0%) children aged 5 to 16 years were identified as having a probable mental health disorder (NHS Digital).  The impact of Covid-19 has also highlighted the importance of protecting and promoting the emotional health and wellbeing (EHWB) of the whole school community.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

  • Explore key models in relation to a whole school approach to emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Be aware of resources for promoting emotional wellbeing and mental health across the whole school community
  • Better understand the importance of staff wellbeing and how to access further support

Links to Healthy Schools London Awards:

EHWB is one of four core themes within the HSL Bronze Award, interwoven across all sections of the audit.  EHWB can also be the development focus of the Silver – Gold Awards.
