Audience / For:Â Early Years staff involved in food and drink provision for children aged under 5 years: including healthy early years leaders, childminders, children centre, nursery and pre-school staff, community champion leaders and any other staff involved in planning menus and food provision to support young children to eat well and develop healthy habits.

Training Overview:
The training is available to Barnet, Westminster, and Kensington and Chelsea, to support EY settings registered with Healthy Early Years London to meet the voluntary Food and Drink Standards: Eat Better Start Better. This training session aims to support staff involved in menu planning and food service.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- Understand how the standards support the provision of a healthy, balanced, nutritious diet required for childhood development and the prevention of obesity
- Become familiar with how to use the standards to lay down the foundations of healthy eating habits through the creation of a supportive food culture
- Practice reviewing and adapting menus across the day to meet the needs of the standards and to promote healthy habits
- Identify when and how to adapt menus to meet specific dietary needs
- Be aware of useful local and national resources and further support available
