Training Overview:

This training session aims to support schools to meet the statutory School Food Standards across the whole day. This training is suitable for staff involved in organising and planning breakfast clubs, school lunches and / or after school clubs. This can include healthy schools’ leaders, teachers, and catering staff within schools.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

  • To take a whole school approach to food provision (which involves some guided choices and making the healthy option the default option e.g. water only schools)
  • To understand the rationale of the standards (which will then help with catering contracts)
  • To make use of practical resources and be able to self audit / plan menus etc.
