Engaging parents/carers around health and wellbeing

Audience / For: Early Years Practitioners and Parent Support Advisers in schools or those with responsibility for parental engagement

Time: 3:30pm to 5:30pm

Training Overview:

Early years settings and schools play a huge part in sharing and promoting positive messages around health and wellbeing through practice and provision. The effectiveness of these messages is enhanced when parents/carers understand and support the aims of the setting/school. This training will look at some of the key areas of health and wellbeing and how we can involve parents/carers to increase the impact of this area of work.

Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:

• Explore effective methods of parental engagement
• Understand key priority areas for children, young people and families around health and wellbeing
• Increase confidence to identify and break down barriers to engagement

Engaging with parents/carers is key to taking a whole setting/school approach to health and wellbeing and therefore fundamental to achieving the Healthy Schools or Healthy Early Years Bronze Awards.
