Training Overview:
The last year has seen an increased focus on and awareness of peer on peer sexual harassment and abuse in schools. We have heard the experiences of young people on the website ‘Everyone’s Invited’ and in the OFSTED Review of sexual abuse in schools and colleges. Evidence supports taking a whole school approach to tackling sexual harassment and sexual abuse so in this session we will be looking at a draft action plan for schools to make sure good practice and provision is in place.
Impact on your Knowledge, Skills and Confidence:
- Explore the national and local evidence and guidance, including student voice.
- Consider the wider context of a whole school approach to tackling sexual harassment and sexual abuse in schools
- Look at how we carry out baseline assessments to ensure we know how young people, staff and parents are feeling
- Focus on how to address sexual harassment and abuse through the PSHE Curriculum
- How to develop an action plan to map your next steps, including needs analysis, planned measurable outcomes and details of how you will monitor and evaluate to measure impact.
